International Summer School for Wound Management

To provide information which will empower doctors, nurses, and other care providers for a successful and sustainable wound care practice.

Aims

Our Wound Management Course is designed to provide participants with the best practices in wound care, the science behind wound healing, and the most current standards of practice.

A mixture of lectures and bedside teaching will be organized every day.

The target audience is composed of different age groups to promote discussions and interactions between younger and more senior colleagues.

The International Summer School offers an evidence-based approach to wound management in order to help clinicians to stay current with the standards of care.

Provided through the Medical University of Graz participants can expect to be taught by experienced instructors that engage all participants through interactive teaching methods.

Structure of the Summer School – Classroom to Bedside

The Summer School is about 5 days including clinical lectures, interactive case reports, e-learning courses, bedside teaching and hands on workshops given by national and international teachers and scientists.

Course Curriculum:

  • Physiology of wound healing
  • Wound assessment and wound documentation
  • Principles of wound management
  • Evidence based wound care
  • Debridement techniques (surgical and non-surgical)
  • Legal aspects and standards, quality- and riskmanagement

Application and Certification:

Participation in the International Summer School is possible for doctors, nurses and others, who work in field of wound care.

After successful completion of the course, a certificate will be issued.

The number of participants is limited to 25 places.
